Sara Alhinho considers herself an artist without borders, withthe feets on her roots and wings throughout the world. Born in Portugal, daughter of a Cape Verdean mother and aMexican father, gave her an intercontinental musical identity. She grew up in Praia - Cape Verde a in a very rich culturalenvironment playing and hanging out with emblematic figures oftraditional capeverdean music. She started singing at age of eight, she takes part in the recordingof the album “Menino das lhas” which was produced by PaulinoVieira (in the eyes of many, one of the greatest artists on the CapeVerdean music scene). This album became a classic of the music forchildren in Cape Verde. At the age of sixteen, she travels to Mexico , where she stays for twoyears and musically grows by recording a demo of her first owncompositions with guitar and voice. In 2007, she recorded the album “Gerassons”, on which mother(TétéAlhinho) and daughter interprete Cape Verdean traditionals, as wellas new songs of their own. In 2014, Sara Alhinho proves herself with Mosaico, her first soloalbum, in co-production with the Mexican Icautli Cortés, whichearned her the price of "Best New Artist" for the Cape VerdeanMusic Awards in 2014. One year later, she wins another contest, that earned her ascholarship for a summer course at the Berklee College of Music inthe United States. In 2018 Sara release her second album "Ton diPetu" with an electro-acoustic sonority,recorded and co-producedin Portugal, with the Portuguese-Angolan Ricardo Quinteira.
